George’s first full exhibition of caricatures drew some local attention and earned him a full page in the local newspaper. Leicester Mercury ran a full page article, featuring caricatures and photos from George’s exhibition, titled “Spot On @ The Movies”. The exhibition featured a small selection of iconic movie posters, in caricature form, taken from george’s caricature collection which displys George’s passion for both movies and caricatures. The exhibition was held in LCB Depot, then the Y Theatre, as part of Leicester’s Comedy Festival.
DOWNINGS was a satirical strip based in a fictitious restaurant, dealing with weekly political issues. George hand drew weekly satirical caricatures published in an online publication called The First Post, from 2006 – 2009, a selection from the Downings archives are shown here.
